fishing area, for many reasons:
- The marine currents along the coastline contain species in high demand, such as
sailfish and marlin.
- The insular platform abounds in coral formations inhabited by innumerable species.
- At the point where the platform ends, some of the larger and more sought-after species
abound, such as bass and porgy.
- In the cays and channels of the Cuban archipelago live species such as macabi, shad
and mullet.
